Now is the Time to Jump Back into Destiny 2

The Final Shape expansion hits Destiny 2 on June 4th. In preparation, Bungie has made a few of their older expansions free for everyone. Now is the perfect time to jump into Destiny if you’re missing key weapons like Parasite (The Witch Queen), Lament (Beyond Lignt), and anything else you missed out on.

Now is the perfect time to jump into Destiny if you’re missing key weapons like Parasite (The Witch Queen), Lament (Beyond Lignt), and anything else you missed out on.

From now until June 3rd, console players can enjoy some of the older expansions including Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, and the Witch Queen. Steam players will gain access on May 21st. All Guardians also get access to past seasons including Season of Defiance, Deep, Witch, and Wish. If you have never played Destiny, or haven’t played it in a while, now is the perfect time.

I was sent a free copy of The Final Shape and will be doing my best to catch up for its release. Bungie does a decent job at getting new players caught up to the new content, but there is a bit of stuff I still need to grind for. If you end up liking any of the expansions available, I would wait for a sale. The expansions go on sale regularly for pretty cheap.

The Guardian Games 2024 Officially Kick off with a Hoverboard!

The Guardian Games are back for their third year, and it’s a great time to log back in for exclusive rewards. From now until March 26, guardians across the world can come together to fight in a fun and unique event. The event is free to every guardian regardless of level or what expansion they own, so grab your guardian, and prove to the world why Hunters are the best.

The Skimmer

This year’s game introduces Destiny’s first hoverboard, and it looks amazing. By completing this years challenges, players will be able to cruise through the universe on the Skimmer. The Skimmer is themed for the event, so while there will be other skimmers available in the game, this is your only chance to get this one. Assuming they don’t release it for next year’s games.

Rewards

Competing in this year’s games also earns you some exclusive cosmetics and gear that you’ll want in your collection, especially if you’re a new or returning player. The armor is cool, but my hunter needs a few more guns for the rotation. These rewards can be earned for free, so make sure you make some time.

The Witch Queen Free on PlayStation Plus

PlayStation Plus subscribers have now until April 1st to receive Destiny 2’s The Witch Queen DLC for free! Delve into the enigmatic Throne World for a chance to face off against Savathûn and her Lucent Hive to reclaim the light. Get your copy today!

Conclusion

There are Paid tracks and rewards for this season, but I am coming at this event as a poor free to play player. Plus none of the cosmetics really spoke to me, but they are available if they do for you.

I’ll be playing the event and probably bringing down the hunter’s average, but I’ll be getting these rewards and preparing of the upcoming Final Shape DLC releasing June 4th. Make sure you make your preorders if you haven’t done so, be kind to the folks around you, and have some fun. See you there!

As As an added intensive, Bungie is opening the vault and giving donors access to exclusive emblems. Emblems cost 1 credit, and donors earn 1 credit per $6 donation. This is a great cause, so make sure you gather any spare glimmer and give back! (Check out the official page for more)

The first Iron Banner of the Year hits Destiny 2!

The Final Shape releases on June 4th, so I’ve started the grind in preparation. Full disclosure, I was sent the expansion for free to cover for my blog when the expansion on release.

It’s been a long time since I last played Destiny, so I’ve been slowly figuring out the type of content I enjoy. The Dawning event was very helpful in getting me to stick with the game because it gave me something to work towards. I ended the event reaching the soft cap with a few nifty exotics, and a couple of seasonal items.

I’ve mostly been making my way through the story, but I was losing interest. Thankfully, this week is Iron Banner and it forced me to play PvP. Destiny 2 PvP isn’t the greatest experience, but I appreciate the break it’s giving me. It also gives me something else to work towards while I figure out my long-term goals for the game.

Iron Banner will run until the 9th, so make sure you boot up Destiny this weekend and start doing the grind. There are a few rewards you’re going to want to chase, but you’re also going to be showered with loot. Make sure you talk to Lord Saladin at the tower to start the quest and pick up your rewards.

That’s it for my update! If you enjoy these updates, please leave a like, comment, follow and share this with your friends!

Grab Destiny’s Newest Exotic Bow, the Wish Keeper!

The Final Shape releases on June 4th. I was sent a copy to cover the release. I haven’t played in a while, so I’ll be taking time to gear up and get ready for the expansion. With the Giving event and trying to regain my bearings, it’s going to be a busy week. Those of you thinking of hopping onto Destiny make sure you head over to Epic Games and grab the Legacy Collection. The collection is free until December 20 and includes The Witch QueenBeyond Light, and Shadowkeep DLCs. That should be enough to keep you busy until the summer. If you have Destiny 2 on Steam, the DLC doesn’t carry over. You’ll have to play the Legacy Collection on Epic Games

I am going to have to keep a calendar. With how much I need to catch up on, it is a bit of a daunting task. At the moment, I am working on collecting the Dawning Event while I go through the bits of the story I haven’t finished, and work on the Season Pass. The Season of the Wish just kicked off which means new rewards and cosmetics, but most importantly, a new raid and weapon. I am nowhere near ready for that yet, but I can still appreciate how cool the Wish Keeper looks.

I mean this bow looks sick, and the effects look like the best time! To obtain the Wish Keeper, Guardian’s must complete the newest Dungeon, Warlord’s Ruin. Guardian’s will travel to the Black Garden and uncover the remains of an ancient Ahamkara. The Raid is up, the bow is live, and there are already a ton of tutorials to get you ready! Go join a fire team and go get that bow!

Earn Some Holiday Cheer for your Guardian During Destiny 2’s Dawning Event

The Dawning event has arrived in Destiny 2 and with the new season of the Wish kicking off, now might be the best time to hop on. If you haven’t played in a while, or never played Destiny before, Epic Games is giving away this year’s Legacy Collection until December 20th. The Legacy Collection includes the Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, and The Witch Queen DLCs. Even if you don’t plan on playing it now, you’re saving $60 on content you can try later. If you own any DLC on Steam, they don’t carry over between clients. You’ll have the Legacy Collection in Epic, but not on Steam.

The Dawning Event is completely free. You don’t need any of the DLC to participate, but you might as well pick it up since it is free. You can buy the Dawning Event Card upgrade to unlock additional rewards for 1,000 Silver ($10), but it’s not really worth it unless you really want the cosmetics.

To get started, you talk to Eva at the tower who will give you an oven and the quest to bake a cookie of Zavala. You’ll need to go to your quest menu to find the oven, click on details, and you should have enough ingredients to make a cookie. You’ll have access to more quests after you deliver the cookie to Zavala. You can now start your grind for this year’s holiday rewards. There are a lot of videos out there with ways to farm for the event efficiently, I recommend you find one from your favorite content creator. I like Aztecross’ guide because it’s comprehensive and easy to follow. If you need help with the recipes, Polygon has a fantastic guide that you should keep bookmarked.

Destiny 2’s Guardian Games are Here!

If you’ve been away from Destiny 2 for a while, it might be a good time to make your return, especially if you enjoyed its PVP. If you’ve never played Destiny 2, the base game is free-to-play, and the event is free to everyone. The Guardian Games pits its different classes against each other in a fun and limited event that runs for three weeks. The event will end on May 23rd, which should be plenty of time to grind out its unique cosmetics made available through the exclusive event card. The event card is available to all players, but there is a paid track for those who want to earn a bit more bling.

Players who participate in the games will have the opportunity to exchange their medallions for two exclusive weapons.

This year’s weapon is the Taraxippos, the game’s first legendary strand scout rifle.

Who wouldn’t want this colorful rifle?

Players can also earn last year’s The Title, a void machine gun with the unique perk, Repulsor Brace.

If you didn’t get a chance to win it last year, it’s a great time to start working towards it now.

You can also earn some other cool cosmetics like:

Armor

Ships and Sparrows

Ghost Shells

Emotes and Finishers

And Stuff from the Event Card

There is a lot to earn, so make sure you hop in today! The breakdown for earning medallions are as follows:

Activities that award you low-tier (Bronze or Silver) Medallions include Gambit and Quickplay Crucible matches, anything from the Vanguard playlists, as well as most Neptune activities and Defiant Battlegrounds. For high-tier (Gold and Platinum) Medallions, play Nightfalls, raids, dungeons, Competitive Crucible, Trials of Osiris, or Legend Defiant Battlegrounds.

You do not need the latest DLCs to participate in the event. While you might be at a disadvantage gear-wise, I never found it an issue as a free-to-play player. If it’s been a while or you’ve never played before, now is a great time to log in and start blinging out your guardian. Who knows? You might like the experience enough to stay.

To get started, talk to Eva Levante for access to the Guardian Games quest and your class item. I hope to see you there!

This year for the games, Bunjie has partnered with Direct Relief and the International Rescue Committee to host the Guardian Games Cup. All money raised will go to some great causes, so make sure you go to the official site to find out how to participate.

Destiny 2’s Annual Guardian Games Return May 2nd

The Guardian Games are returning to Destiny 2, and now might be a great time to come back if you’ve been away. The event will pit guardians against each other as they compete to earn bragging rights and some pretty cool cosmetics. You won’t need the latest expansion to participate, so if you’ve been away for a while or are new to the title, it is completely free to play. Who knows, you might like the game enough to stay.

The Guardian Games begin on May 2nd and will run until the end of the Season of Defiance on May 23rd. To get started, speak with Eva Levante to unlock the Guardian Games quest and get your class item.

Participants will earn medals across the game or through PvP which they can exchange for exclusive cosmetics. More specifically:

Activities that award you low-tier (Bronze or Silver) Medallions include Gambit and Quickplay Crucible matches, anything from the Vanguard playlists, as well as most Neptune activities and Defiant Battlegrounds. For high-tier (Gold and Platinum) Medallions, play Nightfalls, raids, dungeons, Competitive Crucible, Trials of Osiris, or Legend Defiant Battlegrounds.

Use these medallions to unlock these year’s Guardian Games weapons:

The Traxippos  – The first Legendary Strand Scout Rifle in the game

The Title – The Void Submachine Gun is back with updates, including the fan-favorite perk, Repulsor Brace

Players will also have access to the Guardian Games event card for additional cosmetics. There is a paid tier available for 1000 silver that might be worth it if you want the additional cosmetics.

This event also marks the return of the Guardian Games Cup. Anyone can join so make sure you grab your fire team and help raise money for some great causes. This year, Bungie is teaming up with International Rescue and Direct Relief. Participants of the cup will be fighting for the chance to win:

  • Top team in the Technical category: custom art of your fireteam by PherianArt
  • Top team in the Charitable category: custom art of your fireteam by Gammatrap
  • Top two teams in the Technical and Charitable categories: Guardian Games Pendant ($200 MSRP)
  • Top three teams in the Technical and Charitable categories: Apricot Dawn emblem
  • Top four teams in the Technical and Charitable categories: Bungie Store discount codes

The technical category is for the number of medallions earned throughout the event. The charitable category is for the amount of money raised. Make sure you go to the official website to register and start earning.

Participants who donate more than $25 will earn an exclusive Quantum Relay emblem.

I am terrible at PvP, but it might be a great time to dust off my old guardian to start earning some cosmetics.
