I was sent Headbangers Rhythm Royal for free to review for my blog. While I am very grateful for the opportunity, I won’t let it sway my opinions. This will be my honest review. Headbangers Rhythm Royal is a quirky rhythm game out on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and Steam. Play as stylish pigeons just groovin’ and trying to have a good time. Compete against people around the world in a series of rhythm-based party games. Do you have what it takes to be the grooviest pigeon in town?
There is no denying that Headbangers Rhythm Royal is a cute game. It has a fun art style, cute characters, and a solid soundtrack. When you get past the charm, you are left with a game that isn’t worth $20.
Headbangers Rhythm Royal promises this massive party game experience that pits 30 people against each other in quirky and fun mini-games. The game fills the game with bots if not enough humans queue up. Most of the games you play will be full of bots, except for the few humans grinding for accessories. A lobby full of humans wouldn’t have made this game any more fun, but it would make the stakes real. Most of the time you’ll make it to the top 5 unless you’re unlucky and get a room with six or more people. This game isn’t dead, but it desperately needs more people.
Games are split into four randomly selected mini-games. Half of the round’s population is eliminated based on performance. Once you get into a game, you might get trapped in a minigame you hate. Not all of the games are fun, but that is to be expected from the genre. I wish there were a way to vote for a game, but the amount of bots would complicate this system. Nothing is worse than being stuck in a boring mini-game, waiting for it to be over, only to be trapped in something worse. There are a few delightful and fun games, but not enough for $20.
Headbangers Rhythm Royal is a cute party game that you’ll play until the novelty wears off. It’s not bad, but it isn’t worth $20 either. You can pick it up on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and Steam, but I’d wait for it to go on sale.
Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning will be playing at select theaters across the United States on November 8 and 9 through a special Fathom event. This is great news for fans of Digimon Adventure 2 because it brings back those lovable characters in a new adventure 20 years after the events of the original. If you don’t remember what happened, have never seen it, or simply need a refresher, the entire season is up on the official Toei Animation YouTube.
I’ve already bought my ticket and somehow convinced my wife to go, I can only hope it’s good enough for her to watch more Digimon with me. She did enjoy Ghost Game, so maybe there is a chance. You can pick up tickets to the show for $15 on the official Fathom page. Make sure you get to the show early because the first 50 attendants will get a 3-card promo pack for the Digimon TCG. They may not be the coolest, but it is a nice gesture.

These promos definitely look a lot better than the ones you’ll be getting at the show, but it’s up to you how much you enjoy this series to justify the price tag. Preorders are open till November 27, or until supplies run out. The set ships in June.

Saya walks into the office with her usual takeout order and a fresh change of clothes for Kosuke. Yueling gets up from her desk to help her set up for dinner. It had become a ritual between the founders. One that they each cherished in their own way.
“You have to stop coddling him,” Yueling says as she grabs her bowl and takes her seat. “He’s a grown man, and you’re not his mother.”
Saya smiles. “It’s fine, it’s on the way.”
Yueling swallows her mouthful. “I don’t know why you married this bozo, you’re way too good for him.”
Saya rolls her eyes, letting out a playful chuckle. She turns to Kosuke who looks like he’s waking from a trance. “Here’s your soup. Make sure you eat your salad too!” She kisses him before sitting down to her own dinner.
“Yeah yeah, thanks,” he replies. He has deep bags under his eyes. He seems lost in thought.
Ryusenji watches the guests around his table and laughs at the familiar banter. They spend the rest of the dinner talking about their research. They talk about the digital world and newly discovered lifeforms that inhabit it.
“Suppose the proffesor’s hypothesis is correct,” Soya begins, “Suppose these creatures are living AI, what then?”
“If they’re AI life forms, then we could keep them as pets,” Ryusenji chimes in. “Just like that this one,” he says pointing towards a monitor. The monitor is filled with a stream of flowing numbers.
“Its so cute!” Kosuke says, stopping to admire the flow of data.
“You two are the only ones who think so,” Yueling says in an attempt to bring the men back from their trance.
“But just imagine if you could see it all for yourself! Not just the numbers, but the world and the creatures that fill it. Wouldn’t that be amazing?” Saya says dreamily.
“Exactly!” Ryusenji exclaims, shooting a warm smile at his daughter. “We need to be able to see the Digital World if our research is going to scale in any meaningful way.”
“I know that,” Yueling replies, finishing the last of her pork bowl.
“And on that note,” Ryusenji says, clasping his hands together. The table turns their attention to the professor. “I’m starting a business.”
“A business? Like turning this into a company?” Yueling asks.
“I want to see the Digital World with my own eyes, and hear it with my own ears,” the professor continues.
“and the business?” Kosuke interrupts.
“Right. The university has money set aside for incubating businesses. We use that to make Ryusenji Laboratories a publicly traded company. We create some buzz, grab some investors, and we’re on our way to making it all happen.” The professor finishes his proposal with a hopeful smile on his face.
“I’m in,” Yueling says without a moment of hesitation.
“Good, kuz we need you to make the presentation,” the professor answers.
“Are you sure?” Yueling asks, still recovering from the shock of his sudden proposal. “What about my background?” She thinks about her status as a first-generation Japanese. It would be difficult to get public funding as a daughter of immigrants.
“How is any of that a problem?” The professor walks over to Yueling who continues to look more unsure by the second. He places his hand gingerly on her shoulder. “You’re the only one who can do this. I’m counting on you.”
A smile escapes Yueling’s mouth as she fights a sudden flood of happy tears. The doubt she feels fades, and a burst of newfound confidence replaces it. “I won’t let you down!”
“It’s settled then!” the professor exclaims. “Things are about to get busy around here!”
The Rehearsal is a hard show to sell because Nathan Fielder’s humor isn’t for everyone. He is very dry and awkward in his deliveries, but somehow he makes it work. I believe it has to do with how his personality is contrasted against very serious situations that make the shows he makes work. If you can get past his awkward and dry sense of humor, you get an interesting show that explores how we make decisions.
Nathan Fielder usesHBO’s money to help people overcome difficult tasks in their lives. In the first episode, Fielder helps a man who wants to come clean about a lie he told his friends long ago. The lie has been weighing heavily on his conscience. Fielder promises to help him overcome the fear of the situation by helping him prep for the confession. The Fielder makes a replica of the location, gets actors to interact with, and goes over every possible outcome. The idea is to prep the subject by making him encounter every possible outcome. By the end of the rehearsal, the subject should be ready to overcome the task at hand. The show gets stranger as he will often turn the camera on himself and evaluate the morality of what he is doing.
Fielder uses this show to explore the social and situational factors that influence how we make decisions. Fielder will take a simple task or scenario and examine it from every possible perspective. He will also consider every possible outcome of a situation. Fielder uses the data he collects to manipulate situations to result favorably for him. You will sit there as he reevaluates a single moment in the show, dissecting it in order to understand why it resulted as such. If you like studying human behaviors and social dynamics, this is a fantastic show for you.
I fear I might not be doing this show justice because it is a hard one to explain. It is a comedy that isn’t bound by its genre. Instead, it is an in-depth study of the psyche of decision making. If you can get past Fielder’s stale personality, you find yourself with an interesting show. You can stream it on HBO.
