New Paradox Rift Full Art Cards Revealed

We got some new spoilers for the upcoming Paradox Rift set coming on November 3rd, and I for one am excited. There are some super cute full art cards I need in my binder. You can preorder Paradox Rift products like the Booster Box, 6-pack, or single packs from the Pokémon Center while supplies last.

If you enjoy these updates, don’t forget to like, comment, subscribe, and share this with your friends!

I’m starting with the cutest of the reveals because it’s what has me the most excited for the set.

That’s it for now, I wanted to give the full art cards their own space to shine. I’ll be back with the full list of new reveals and translations as soon as I can so make sure you stay tuned for that!

Pokémon TCG My First Battle coming September 29th

When the Pokémon TCG My First Battle was first announcedI didn’t pay too much attention to it. It was a neat idea, but I didn’t have any use for it at the time. I’ve since been playing a lot more into the game, but I would love some people to play with irl. I could spend the money to build a competitive deck and make time to go to a local league, but it would also be nice to teach people to play in a more casual setting. I have a few cousins and nephews who collect the cards that might be interested, so I did more research about the product and put in a preorder over at GameNerdz.

My First Battle offers a streamlined way of teaching younger players simplified fundamentals of the card game. The hardest part about any TCG is the overwhelming mechanics and rules that go with them. Pokémon is too hard to pick up, but I can see it being overwhelming for newcomers.

My First Battle is designed for younger players. It has simplified rules and mechanics to give players the necessary foundation to get started with the Pokémon TCG. This product is meant to be a solid jumping, but its effectiveness is yet to be seen. Decks have been streamlined to guide players through the different phases, terms, and mechanics.

The kits come with:

  1. 2 17-card mini decks
  2. 2 playmats
  3. A rulebook, a metallic coin
  4. A sheet of damage counters
  5. 6 prize tokens.

I went out and preordered a set of these kits to play with my nephew. I will be comparing its effectiveness as an introductory and see how it compares to the Pokemon TCG Battle Academy kit. Stay tuned for that review.

The kits hit stores on September 29 and will retail at $9.99 MSRP each. GameNerdz has a set of two on sale for $14.97. Free shipping is available after $75, which shouldn’t be a problem to hit. They have a lot of great deals on products you are going to want to fill your shelves with.

The final trailer for El Paso, Elsewhere just dropped, and its amazing!

The final trailer for El Paso, Elsewhere just dropped, and I can’t wait for the release. The trailer is epic, and I recommend you check it out even if you have no intention of buying the game. El Paso, Elsewhere is a quirky retro shooter where players hunt hordes of vampires, werewolves, and other demons. The voice acting sounds great, the story and gameplay seem fun, and I am excited to hear what they put on the soundtrack. El Paso, Nightmare, the game before this, had an amazing soundtrack.

El Paso, Nightmare is a lot of fun. I’ve reviewed Nightmare in a previous post, make sure you check it out if you want more details. The game is a lot of fun, and worth the $4.99. If you are looking for a casual game and enjoyed the retro era of gaming, go get El Paso, Nightmare

El Paso, Elsewhere releases on Xbox and Steam on September 26. No price has been announced yet, but make sure you wishlist it! If you enjoy these updates, make sure you like, comment, follow, and share this with your friends.

Second Wave Beta coming October 6th!

The Beta for the MOBA Shooter Second Wave has been announced for PC and Xbox. The beta will run from October 6th to the 16th. Now I got to play an early version at GDC and got in for the Alpha and loved every second of it. Even though the versions I’ve tried were rough, they were enough to keep me excited for Second Wave’s release. I understand that it is too early to judge since we don’t have a finished product, but I see the potential.

Second Wave will be playable on PC, Xbox, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and IOS and Android devices. It is essentially Overwatch, but more anime-inspired. I just hope Second Wind isn’t as toxic as Overwatch has become. I loved playing support and can’t wait to hop back in and play some more. This game is fun, and worth trying if you enjoy the genre, so make sure you wishlist the game on Steam and join the Discord to stay on top of all the news.

Pokémon Trick or Trade Booster Bundle and Halloween Advent Calendar now available!

Since we are a few days into September, it is the perfect time to start preparing for Halloween season. Pokémon has released a couple of products that you are going to look at. If you’ve been enjoying these updates, don’t forget to like, comment, follow, and share this with your friends!

Pokémon Trick or Trade Booster Bundle

This booster bundle is the perfect alternative to candy. Bundles include 50 3-card packs for you to pass out. There isn’t going to be much value in this product, so only purchase it if you are going to give it away. It could also serve as a cheap and inexpensive way to open packs with a younger kid. The BOOster bundles retail at $19.99.

Halloween Advent Calendar

The advent calendar makes the perfect holiday gift for the little trainer in your life. It includes a cute cast of collectable figures, and advent calendars always make for a fun time. The cheapest I found was Amazon for $39.99, but you can also try Walmart for a few bucks more.

Mimikyu at Build-a-Bear

This news is a little old, but I thought I would share it anyways. Mimikyu is at Build-a-Bear and its super cute! If you are a fan of Mimikyu and are looking for a high quality plushy collectable, you might want to check it out. You can only buy the Mimikyu bundle online. The bundle includes the plushy, hat and bow tie set, and the voice box for $52.50. You can pick up Mimikyu in-store for $34.

Mimikyu at Gamestop

In other Mimikyu related news, get your Electric-Tera Mimikyu from participating Gamestops this October. Trainers in the US and Canada can pick up codes for Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet games. No date has been announced for the start date, but I’ll make sure to make an announcement as soon as its available.

Animal Crossing and Mario Kart switch bundles coming in October!

Nintendo just announced a new line of consoles and bundles just in time for the holiday season. If you are looking for gifts or something for yourself, these bundles will be a great place to get you started. If you’ve been enjoying these updates, don’t forget to like, follow, and share this with your friends!

Animal Crossing: New Leaf Aloha Edition

I am going to start with my personal favorite, the Animal Crossing Aloha edition Switch Lite bundles. The design is simple, but I love the colors they are come in. This bundle will have too flavors: Isabelle’s and Timmy & Tommy. Both bundles will include a digital copy of Animal Crossing: New Leaf, which I still have to get around to playing, and the special edition console. I don’t like the colors will be retailer exclusives, but that’s the world we live in now. I just hope the scalpers don’t ruin it for the rest of us. MSRP is set at $199.99.

Nintendo Switch Lite Isabelle’s Aloha Edition

Isabelle’s Aloha edition is my favorite of the two because of the color. The Coral color switch will be a Target exclusive.

Nintendo Switch Lite Timmy & Tommy’s Aloha Edition

The turquoise console will be a Walmart exclusive.

Nintendo Switch – Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Bundle

Now the Mario Kart bundle may not come with an exclusive special edition console, but it does come as a regular Nintendo Switch system, a digital copy of Mario Kart 8: Deluxe, and a 3 month subscription to Nintnedo Switch Online. Mario Kart has cemented itself as the perfect starter game since its conception, making this a pretty solid gift if you are looking to get your kids started on their first Nintendo. The bundle retails at $299.99, and it isn’t retail exclusive. Preorders available at Best Buy

Nintendo Switch – OLED Model: Mario Red Edition

If you are looking for a special edition, full-sized console, you need to look at the upcoming Mario Red edition. It comes with an OLED version of the switch for a better handheld experience, and a cool red design you are going to want to display prominently. The Mario Red Edition comes out October 6th retailing at $349.99 MSRP. Preorders are available at major retailers

The live-action One Piece series is a must watch, even if you aren’t a fan of anime

If you have been enjoying my content and want to support what I do make sure you like, comment, subscribe, and share this with your friends. You can also buy me a coffee

I’ve been holding off on watching Netflix’s live-action One Piece series because I was afraid they would ruin another of my favorite anime. As a long-time fan, I needed this series to be good. I can forgive Netflix for a lot of the garbage they put out, but I could never forgive them for ruining One Piece. That said, I did my best to come into the series as open-minded and unbiased as possible. I didn’t rewatch the anime, stayed away from spoilers and news, and didn’t even watch the trailers. I wanted to go into this series as removed from the source material as possible because I didn’t want my experience to be affected by nostalgia or fandom. After sitting through the series, my only complaint is that I didn’t start it sooner. If you haven’t watched it yet, you need to do so now!

The series covers the events through the Coco Village arc. This is a condensed version of the events, but the changes made are appropriate and appreciated. For those unfamiliar with the source material, Luffy dreams of being king of the pirates and sets off to find the crew that will help him find Gol D. Roger’s infamous treasure, the one piece. But the sea is a dangerous place, full of pirates, marines, and monsters. Despite having the powers of the Gum-Gum Fruit, Luffy has a lot to learn before he can be king of the pirates.

I love how faithful of an adaptation this series is. The attention to detail is astounding. The costumes, the sets, the characters, and the story are a perfect interpretation of the source material. I can’t believe how good of a conversion Netflix is capable of, especially after all the garbage I’ve sat through. As a fan, even though I haven’t seen the first season in a while, it made me giddy to catch the subtlest of references.

But you don’t have to like anime to enjoy this series. It has a fantastic cast that shares excellent chemistry, fun and exciting action scenes, and a well-written and tight season. I was afraid they would drag this out like streaming services tend to do, but One Piece gets to the point and leaves viewers wanting more.

I can spend hours talking about the series, comparing the versions, and overanalyzing the plot, characters, etcetera, but I’ll leave you with this: Go watch it now! If you are a fan of the series, this is the adaptation you didn’t know you wanted. It makes me hopeful for Avatar the Last Air Bender live-action series Netflix is also working on. If you’ve never seen One Piece, or even know what it is, this series is going to make you watch the anime. I know it made me restart it all from the beginning. If you do start watching the anime, I recommend you skip the filler episodes. One Piece isn’t as bad as others when it comes to filler, nor are they bad episodes, but when a series is this long, it’s nice to get to the point. I love the live-action and can’t wait for there to be more!
