Every card from Paldean Fates so far (Minus the Shinies)

Paldean Fates releases on January 26. This mini set will introduce a few shiny versions you’re going to want in your collection, but it’s also introducing some brand-new cards you are going to want to look at. I’ve collected what we have so far, and their translations. It’s going to be a long one. As of writing this, you can preorder the Pokémon Center Paldean Fates ETB ($59.99) and the Paldean Fates booster bundle ($26.94) from the Pokémon Center.

Once during your turn, you may search your deck for up to 5 Basic [G] Energy cards and attach them to your Pokémon in any way you like. Then, shuffle your deck. If you searched your deck in this way, this Pokémon is Knocked Out.

[G][G] Guard Press: 120 damage. During your opponent’s next turn, this Pokémon takes 30 less damage from attacks (after applying Weakness and Resistance).

Prevent all effects of attacks used by your opponent’s Pokémon done to all of your Pokémon that have Energy attached. (Existing effects are not removed. Damage is not an effect.)

[G][G] Colony Rush: 80+ damage. This attack does 40 more damage for each of your Benched Pokémon that has any [G] Energy attached.

Espathra ex

Ability: Dazzling Gaze
As long as this Pokémon is in the Active Spot, attacks used by your opponent’s Active Pokémon cost [C] more.

[P] Psy Ball: 30+ damage. This attack does 30 more damage for each Energy attached to both Active Pokémon.

Venusaur ex

Ability: Tranquil Flower
Once during your turn, if this Pokémon is in the Active Spot, you may heal 60 damage from 1 of your Pokémon.

[G][G][C] Dangerous Toxwhip: 150 damage. Your opponent’s Active Pokémon is now Confused and Poisoned.

Charmeleon

Ability: Flare Veil
Prevent all effects of attacks used by your opponent’s Pokémon done to this Pokémon. (Damage is not an effect.)

[R][R] Combustion: 50 damage.

Charizard ex

[R] Brave Wing: 60+ damage. If this Pokémon has any damage counters on it, this attack does 100 more damage.

[R][R][R][R] Explosive Vortex: 330 damage. Discard 3 Energy from this Pokémon.

[R] Collect: Draw a card.

[R][C] Steady Firebreathing: 40 damage.

Magmortar

[R] Flare: 40 damage.

[R][R][C] Volcanic Heat: 170 damage. During your next turn, this Pokémon can’t attack.

Numel

[R] Singe: Your opponent’s Active Pokémon is now Burned.

[R][R][C] Heat Blast: 60 damage.

Camerupt

[R] Super Singe: Your opponent’s Active Pokémon is now Burned.

[R][R][C] Pyroclastic Cannon: 120+ damage. You may discard a [R] Energy from this Pokémon. If you do, this attack does 120 more damage.

[R][R] Heat Tackle: 100 damage. This Pokémon also does 40 damage to itself.

[R][R][C] Heat Blast: 60 damage.

Armarouge

Ability: Fire Off
As often as you like during your turn, you may move a [R] Energy from 1 of your Benched Pokémon to your Active Pokémon.

[R][R][C] Flame Cannon: 90 damage. Your opponent’s Active Pokémon is now Burned.

Ability: Solid Shell
This Pokémon takes 30 less damage from attacks (after applying Weakness and Resistance).

[W][W] Twin Cannons: 140x damage. Discard up to 2 Basic [W] Energy cards from your hand. This attack does 140 damage for each card you discarded in this way.

Lapras

[C] Into the Deep: Put up to 3 Basic Energy cards from your discard pile into your hand.

[W][C] Freeze-Dry: 50 damage. Flip a coin. If heads, your opponent’s Active Pokémon is now Paralyzed.

Frigibax

[W] Collect: Draw a card.

[W][C] Beat: 20 damage.

Chinchou

[C] Illuminate: Look at the top card of your deck. You may put it back on top of your deck or put it at the bottom of your deck.

[L][C] Tiny Charge: 20 damage.

Lanturn

[C][C] Lightning Ball: 50 damage.

[L][L][C] Aqua Spark: 80+ damage. If this Pokémon has any [W] Energy attached, this attack does 120 more damage.

Kilowattrel

[C] United Thunder: This attack does 10 damage to 1 of your opponent’s Benched Pokémon for each Pokémon in your discard pile that has the United Wings attack. (Don’t apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.)

[L][C][C] Speed Wing: 90 damage.

Exeggcute

[P] Hypnosis: Your opponent’s Active Pokémon is now Asleep.

[P][C] Rolling Tackle: 30 damage.

Exeggutor

[P][C] Hypnoblast: 30 damage. Your opponent’s Active Pokémon is now Asleep.

[P][P][C] Psychic Loop: 160 damage. Put 2 Energy attached to this Pokémon into your hand.

Natu

[P] Triple Strike: 10x damage. Flip 3 coins. This attack does 10 damage for each heads.

Xatu

Ability: Clairvoyant Sense
Once during your turn, you may attach a Basic [P] Energy card from your hand to 1 of your Benched Pokémon. If you attached Energy to a Pokémon in this way, draw 2 cards.

[P][C][C] Super Psy Bolt: 80 damage.

Chimecho

[C][C] Sleep Inducer: Switch in 1 of your opponent’s Benched Pokémon to the Active Spot. The new Active Pokémon is now Asleep.

[P][C][C] Psyshot: 70 damage.

Latias

Ability: Mist Float
If this Pokémon has any [P] Energy attached, it has no Retreat Cost.

[P][P][C] Psychic Sphere: 100 damage.

Mime Jr.

[.] Make-Believe Copycat: Your opponent chooses 1 of their Pokémon’s attacks. Use that attack as this attack.

[P] Reckless Charge: 30 damage. This Pokémon also does 10 damage to itself.

[P] Attract Wave: 30 damage. Your opponent’s Active Pokémon is now Confused. Put 6 damage counters instead of 3 on that Pokémon for this Special Condition.

[M][C] Headbutt: 20 damage.

Iron Treads ex

[M][M][C] Clad Rolling: 150 damage. You may discard a Future Booster Energy Capsule attached to this Pokémon. If you do, during your opponent’s next turn, this Pokémon takes 150 less damage from attacks (after applying Weakness and Resistance).

Gholdengo

[C] Bountiful Riches: Attach any number of Basic [M] from your hand to your Pokémon in any way you like.

[M][C][C] Gorgeous Surf: 80x damage. Flip a coin for each [M] Energy attached to this Pokémon. This attack does 80 damage for each heads.

Cyclizar

[G][D][C] Rapid Drive: 100 damage. Flip a coin. If heads, during your opponent’s next turn, prevent all damage from and effects of attacks done to this Pokémon.

Shroodle

[C] Scratch: 10 damage.

[C][C] Poison Fang: 20 damage. Your opponent’s Active Pokémon is now Poisoned.

Grafaiai ex

[C] Numbing Saliva: 30 damage. Flip a coin. If heads, your opponent’s Active Pokémon is now Paralyzed.

[C][C][C] Poison Toss: 180 damage. Your opponent’s Active Pokémon is now Poisoned. During your next turn, this Pokémon can’t use Poison Toss.

Cyclizar

[C] Wham Bam Dash: Flip a coin until you get tails. For each heads, draw a card.

Your opponent reveals their hand. Draw 2 cards for each Supporter card you find there.

Nemona

Draw 3 cards.

Moonlit Hill

Once during each player’s turn, that play may discard a Basic [P] Energy from their hand in order to heal 30 damage from each of their Pokémon.

Nemona’s Backpack

Put up to 2 Nemona from your discard pile into your hand.

Students in Paldea

Search your deck for a Pokémon that doesn’t have a Rule Box, reveal it, and put it into your hand. For each other Students in Paldea in your discard pile, you may search your deck for another Pokémon that doesn’t have a Rule Box. Then, shuffle your deck. (Pokémon ex, Pokémon V, etc. have Rule Boxes.)

Search your deck for a Pokémon that doesn’t have a Rule Box, reveal it, and put it into your hand. For each other Students in Paldea in your discard pile, you may search your deck for another Pokémon that doesn’t have a Rule Box. Then, shuffle your deck. (Pokémon ex, Pokémon V, etc. have Rule Boxes.)

Technical Machine: Crisis Shot

The Pokémon this card is attached to can use the attack on this card. (You still need the necessary Energy to use this attack.) If this card is attached to 1 of your Pokémon, discard it at the end of your turn.

[C][C][C] Crisis Shot: 280 damage. You can use this attack only if your opponent has exactly 1 Prize card remaining.

We just got some more spoilers for the upcoming Paradox Rift set, and it is hard not to be excited. Especially when you see the alt art cards. This round of spoilers is full of cards you are going to want in your binder. Hopefully, the pull rates are better than 151. Paradox Rift releases on November 3rd. I’ll leave links below on where you can preorder if your LGS isn’t an option. Please use my affiliate links where possible. Pokémon Paradox Rift Spoilers: Grass Type Card List, Translations and where to Preorder

I know Paradox Rift is a month away, but preorders are open, and it’s never too early to get excited for Pokémon. Paradox Rift comes out on November 3rd, which is just in time for the holidays. I thought it be great to start organizing all the spoilers like I’ve done in the past. I’ll start with grass my way through the rest as quickly as I can. Resurgence Booster Box Toppers Rev and Red Memory Boost Alt card revealed!

It’s been a little slow in the world of the Digimon TCG this week, but with the release of the Resurgence Booster upon us, I am not surprised. We did get the box toppers for the set and an alt art card for the upcoming Adventure Box that I am super excited about. Resurgence Booster Alt Art Card

The Resurgence booster is coming out this week on the 20th, so make sure you head to your local game shop and put in your preorders. There is always TCG Players if your LGS doesn’t carry Digimon. The set will include important reprints and some new cards that both players and collectors will want to get their hands on. I will start things with the last of the alt cards revealed for the set, Proximamon.

I am a little biased, but purple is the best color. This card is just so cool. I love the mirrored images in the back, the pose, and the lighting. This is going to look sick with the foiling. It’s not my favorite alt art from the set, but it is a strong way to end the reveals.

Box Toppers

I’ve never gotten lucky with the box toppers, but I am happy for the inclusion. This set includes some neat playable ones you might want to get your hands on. This set feels very Ghost Game heavy which is fine because I love Ghost Game.

Red Memory Boost Alt Art

Finally, we are starting to get a sneak peek at the alt art cards that will be included in the Adventure Box set also releasing on September 29. The set will come with 4 boosters, a small 1-inch figure, and an alt art memory booster promo card. There hasn’t been any word on what figures will be included, but I am hoping it’s Ghost Game. I would love a little Gammamon to display on my desk. I wish they included two or the promo cards or at least a play set, having just one feels a little greedy when you need multiples for a deck. This feels fine for collectors who don’t care about multiple copies, I just hope it’s easy to find the different figures and promo cards. The first card revealed is the Red Memory boost, let’s hope the rest come soon and are as cool!

Lorcana: Amber Ink Card List

Disney’s Lorcana comes out August 18th so lets get excited by looking at the Amber Ink card list. There are lots of cool looking cards that are going to look so good in a binder. Make sure you get all your Lorcana from your LGS and don’t forget to comment, like, subscribe, and share this with your friends!

I am loving the Lilo and Stitch cards. This set is starting off real strong, but I wonder if there will be alt art secret rares or special box toppers like you see in other TCGs to give collectors something to chase. Either way, I am very excited. How about you? Will you be buying into Lorcana?

The Pokemon 151 full art cards are enough to get anyone hyped for the set

I’ve seen more of the full art cards for the upcoming Pokemon 151 set, and they are beautiful. It is seriously becoming impossible to fight the urge to buy into this set because it looks so good!

Pokemon 151 has done a terrific job of balancing enough of a nostalgic feel to satisfy long-time fans while establishing itself as a unique and desirable set to draw in new ones. Pokemon 151 releases on September 22nd. I only do Pokemon TCG live at the moment, but those of you who want physical cards can head over to Best Buy or Target to pre-preorder. Check out my previous post where I break down the pre-orders by product.

Obsidian Flames: Steel Type Card List and Translations

[M] Mirror Draw: Draw cards until you have the same number of cards in your hand as your opponent.

[M] Oracle Press: 20 damage. Prevent all effects of your opponent’s attacks, except damage, done to this Pokémon during your opponent’s next turn.

[M][M] Extrasensory: 70+ damage. If you have the same number of cards in your hand as your opponent, this attack does 90 more damage.

[M] Pierce: 60 damage.

Pawniard

[M] Triple Cutter: 10x damage. Flip 3 coins. This attack does 30 damage for each heads.

Bisharp

[M] Metal Claw: 20 damage.

[M][C] Fury Cutter: 50+ damage. Flip 3 coins. If 1 of them is heads, this attack does 20 more damage. If 2 of them are heads, this attack does 60 more damage. If all of them are heads, this attack does 120 more damage.

Kingambit

[M] Execute: If your opponent’s Active Pokémon has 4 or more damage counters on it, it is Knocked Out.

[M][C][C] Massive Rend: 140 damage.

Togedemaru

[C] Defense Curl: Flip a coin. If heads, prevent all damage done to this Pokémon by attacks during your opponent’s next turn.

Meltan

[M] Melt: 20 damage.

Melmetal ex

[M] Metal Absorption: Search your deck for up to 2 Basic [M] Energy cards and attach them to this Pokémon. Then, shuffle your deck.

[C][C][C][C] Full Metal Knuckle: 90+ damage. This attack does 30 more damage for each [M] Energy attached to this Pokémon.

Revavroom ex

Ability: Tune-Up
This Pokémon may have up to 4 Pokémon Tools attached to it. If it loses this Ability, discard Pokémon Tools from it until only 1 remains.

Digimon TCG Update: June 4th

The Digimon Card game has had its resurgence for a couple of years now, and I have since started my humble collection. I love the art and enjoy the gameplay. Sadly, I don’t have the time to play at locals or online, but I love collecting. There are ways to play online if you don’t mind the clunkiness of Tabletop Simulator or the awkwardness of playing through a webcam with strangers on Discord, but I am a little too socially awkward. I can only hope that there is enough of a market for the game that one day, Bandai will release a web client like the big TCGs.

In an effort to give the game more exposure and hopefully convince some folks to join the hobby, I will start making weekly updates on the news related to the game. Please I will be coming at these announcements from the perspective of an enthusiastic collector rather than a competitive player or an investor. This post will also include spoilers for an unreleased set, so if you care about spoilers, stop reading now. And as always, make sure you like and subscribe!

This theme booster is coming out on June 23rd and the art for this set is so good!

I want to start off with Omnimon Alter-S because it looks so cool! Man the art is amazing, and the affects are pretty cool. DNA Digivolution is such a cool mechanic and you get some pretty nice removal and board expansion.

This looks like its going to be a great set to collect if you like the Greymon and Garurumon line. I’d love to add these to my binder!

Locals

The local scene hasn’t had too much love, at least in my area. I had a chat with the manager of my LGS and was told that Bandai was spending more resources promoting One Piece. They weren’t getting much prize support, but that might be changing with the new prize support promos that were just announced. I can’t tell you who is getting allocated, but there might be incentive to collect some.

Tamer Party

Tamer party is a special event for the month of June with the goal to encourage new players to the hobby. This is a casual event designed to teach players how to play. There is no winner, but participants will get special four card packs with a chance of hitting a very cool Magnamon. Check with your LGS if they will be participating.

I don’t know about you, but I love the retro vibe for this Magnomon. They other cards you can pull are pretty exciting as well.

I am most excited for Aldamon if I am being honest. I know there is a lot of hate for Frontier, but it is my favorite season of Digimon. The story might not have been the best, but it had an amazing concept and a fantastic opening song. There might be bias because of how impressionable I might have been at that age, but I don’t care. I like what I like.

June 2023 Store Championship

While not the most exciting news, if you have access to decent local scene, might be a good chance to get some unique promos.

Digimon Con 2023 Recap

I recently just got back into the Digimon fandom and even have started collecting the card games because they look so cool. Digimon con just happened, and while most of the announcements and releases target the Japanese audience, there are some cool announcements for those outside Japan to look forward to. There were a few interesting interviews with voice actors and artists that are worth looking into if you are a fan of the anime, but I will be focusing more on the trading card and game news. I will provide links to the videos and pictures where available.

Digimon World: New Order

With Digimon World: New Order releasing on February 22, 2023, we got news about new features coming with this port. We got a bit of the initial gameplay, nothing too exciting, but it did provide insight into the type of game this will be for those of us that never got to play the original. The new port comes with a new “beginner” difficulty setting aimed at newcomers. There is also 1.4x speed to make travel over the world quicker. I always appreciate these types of quality-of-life changes because, for those of us that are too busy for gaming, this allows us to enjoy the game without being bogged down by its mechanics. 

New Order’s gameplay places its focus on how you raise your Digimon. They showed different ways to raise your Digimon. You have to feed, train, talk to, and even discipline your Digimon to help it grow. Like any pet management game, it is looking like a very relaxing experience with a solid story behind it. The way you treat your Digimon, how you talk to them, train them or even discipline them affects their Digivolution path. It might be necessary to have a guide handy to make sure that you get the Digimon you want. As long as I get a Wizardmon, I will be okay.

I announced my excitement for this game previously and still plan on playing this game on Launch. Watching the bits of gameplay has only made me more impatient for the 22nd to come around.

Digimon TCG News

What I was most excited about for Digimon Con was news about the Digimon TCG. While I am disappointed that there was no announcement for an online client, there are a fair amount of promos to be had.

The first screening of the Digimon Illustration Competition 2023 was announced, and there are some cool-looking designs to look forward to. From this group, one design from each Digimon will be selected to be made into promo cards.

3rd Anniversary Set Announcement

The 3rd Anniversary set has been revealed for Japan. This collection showcases 9 golden promo cards that come in a nice holder with some very cool art. As of writing this, pre-orders are only available for the Japanese market. Those of you fans outside of Japan will either have to pay the premium and get your hands on the Japanese edition or gamble on a global release.

Get Magnamon

The “Get Magnamon” campaign was announced in Japan for March and April 2023 where players of the TCG will be able to compete in Tamer Battles and Tamer Exchange events for a chance to win a new alt version of the BT8 Magnamon. I love the classic style of this card and pray that we get a US release of this promo.

Digimon Card Game Championship 2022 Finals

The Digimon TCG Championship Finals are around the corner, and the promo cards for participating in the event and the prize cards have been announced. These cards look very nice, and I envy those players who were able to make it this far. The Finals will be on February 24 – 26, 2023 at the Los Angeles Conversion Center. Those who qualify will move on to the World Championship finals on March 11, 12, 18, and 19.

Digimon Fan Meetup 2th Anniversary Echibition

But that isn’t all. The convention will also be home to the Digimon Fan Meetup pop-up event. This museum will exhibit over 140 art pieces from the Digimon IP. It is free to everyone but get there quickly because they are giving away some cool promos. Those who attend will get their hands on a special guidebook that is sure to have some cool art and a pack of the alt cards of last year’s winners of the Digimon Illustration contest. Get there quickly because these promos are only available while supplies last.

Digital Monster 25th Anniversary Project

The biggest focus for the convention seemed to be on the Digimon Vital Bracelets. They announced the Digital Monster 25th anniversary project which seems to be a comic, some live-action shorts, and products centered around the Vital Bracelet game. This came with the announcement of the new Digimon Loogamon and an introduction to his story. This is an attempt to expand on the experience for those who play the game which I hear is fun but lacking. If the story is good enough, I can see it selling more of the toy. I wish this game would come out for the smartwatch. I don’t want to have to wear two watches to have access to this game. 

 More news of the story is set to be announced closer to its release but at the moment we know that it will be a darker Digimon story where 3 factions fight for dominance. There are the Crackers who work in the shadows, the Digipolice that fight Digimon crime, and the Hackers who work somewhere in the middle. Art for the project has been released, but I am not sure how invested I will be in something that I won’t have access to.

Loobamon’s Vitabracelett has been announced, but preorders are only open for Japan at the moment. This Digimon is cute, and I can’t wait for the card versions.

I thought the event was interesting as a fan of Digimon. Since I am only a fan of the game and the TCG, I found the announcements to be a bit underwhelming. I enjoyed the live performances and even some of the more silly content like the card matches, but I was hoping for news on an online client. I want to be able to play the card game online like I can with Pokemon or even MTG, since locals isn’t really accessible for me. I guess I will keep waiting.

If you play the Vital Bracelet game, there was a lot of cool sounding information for you. I wish they could port this game to smart watches. I would love to play this game, but I don’t see the point of having two watches. Either way, I enjoyed it enough to do this again next year. There was a lot to go over but I tried to condense it to the most important.
