Beginning Observer comes out this Friday, May 24th, and it has some alt art cards you’re going to want to chase. This set does a good job at highlighting Digimon I had forgotten about or overlooked. Make sure you always support your LGS, but you can always pick up Beginning Observeror any other Digimon Card Gameproduct on TCG Player through my affiliate links.

Sidney just had their online regionals this weekend, and I’ll jump in on the top four decks that dominated the format. Always support your LGS, but I’ll leave TCG Player affiliate links to the singles for those who need them.

Digimon Con 2024 aired last night, and while there were a few announcements to be excited about, most fans will find it disappointing. Unless you like the toys, music, and pageantry of the event, there isn’t a real reason to sit through the three hours. I like listening to the voice actors about their experiences, watching the concerts, and enjoying the jokes and energy the presenters bring. I’m still sad that I can’t play Digimon on my phone, but there is a bit of news that I am excited for.
I’ll be breaking up the event into the announcements I think are the most exciting, but the VOD is still up on the official YouTube if you want to watch. If you enjoy these updates, please leave a like, comment, and share this with your friends. Don’t forget to follow the socials.
I am most excited about the Digimon Liberator news. Serialization for the comic begins on April 25th in English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese. I hope the English translation is better than what we got for Seekers.
In celebration of the announcement, we got a new trailer that will leave you hyped. I know it did for me. The song is fantastic, and the art is amazing. I just hope there is enough interest in the comic for an anime. I am not alone when I say an anime series about the Digimon card game would be amazing.
We did get a prologue to set up the series, but the site seems to be down as of writing this. I’ll leave the link in case it gets fixed. I recommend you check it out, it’s got a great style.

We got more character art and digivolutions, and I am a huge fan of the design. I am a huge fan of the Chaperomon and Cendrillmon. I love the design, but the flavor is just so good!

I am a huge fan of the alt arts and can’t wait to see what the set will bring to the hobby.
The Digimon Liberator webcomic was teased last month. The webcomic will be about the card game and will introduce new characters, Digimon, and Digivolutions. To celebrate, Bandai is releasing six promo cards featuring the new characters. I’m digging these promos and hope they make them easy to obtain later on.
Digimon Liberator packs will be given out at the Bandai Card Games Fest in Los Angeles, January 27-28. Packs will only have 1 card, so I hope they make it easy to earn multiple. A global release of the promo packs will be announced later this year.
The event is free, so if you are in the area and love Digimon or any of the other Bandai IPs, try to make some time. It looks like it is too late to participate and spectate the tournaments, but they’ll be streaming the finals on YouTube.
Attendees will also have the chance to earn an Illustration Competition and Digimon Liberator promo pack by completing the scavenger hunt. Supplies are limited, so you better act fast! There are some cool promos going into this event, so let’s at least have a look!

Atendees can get their hands on this sick Imperialdramon promo! I love the colors! I’ll be updating this with a better quality image as soon as I find one.
Illustration Competition 2023 Promos
These are still being revealed, so I’ll be updating this post regularly until I have the full set.
Animal Colosseum releases this Friday, January 19th, and I just wanted to take a moment to appreciate the alt art cards. I love Digimon because it has some of the coolest art in any TCG (I’m a little biased), and this set is no exception. I’ve already made a post for the Digital art, but they don’t do them justice. This is a game where you need to hold the foil in your hand to appreciate the detail. I don’t have the real thing, so pictures will have to do for now.
If you enjoy these updates, make sure you leave a like, comment, follow, and share this with your friends. Always support your LGS, but you can always preorder Animal Colusseum or purchase any other Digimon Product, like the Blast Ace booster, over at TCG Player.
Animal Colosseumreleases this Friday, January 19th, so lets take a look at the box toppers. There are a few Digitama I wouldn’t getting my hands on, and that Skullgreymon just looks so sick. Always check with your LGS for any events and product, but you can always preorder Animal Colusseum on TCG Player.
If you enjoy these updates, make sure you leave a comment, like, follow, and share this with your friends. If you’re looking for any Digimon product like Blast Ace, get it over at TCG Player
Animal Colosseum releases on January 19th, so let’s look at the Yellow cards hitting the format. There is a bit of overlap, but we are getting a Fanglongmon card. I’m a bit underwhelmed by the design, but at least the alt art card is cool. Mitamamon is a personal favorite from this color.
If you enjoy these updates, please leave a like, comment, follow, and share this with your friends. If you want to can preorder Animal Colosseumor buy any of the existing sets like Blast ACE, get it over at TCG Player through my affiliate links! I’ll also be leaving links to the singles where available, but I would hold off till after the set releases and the prices stabilize.
Animal Colosseum releases on January 19th, so let’s look at the black cards hitting the format. There is a bit of overlap with my previous post. The monkeys are specifically spectacular, especially the Etemon. I love the flavor of the card and how vibrant the concert seems. Black is my least favorite color of the set so far, but I still see a couple of cards I’d love in my binder.

There is a lot to go over so I’ll leave a table so you can skip to the information that is important to you:
What is Animal Colosseum
Animal Colosseum is a themed booster that will introduce 74 new cards into the format:
22 Common

The set will also include the new Fortitude keyword, some beautiful alt arts, and some cool box toppers to chase. It will also include a flavorful line up of Digimon like:
The Blast Acebooster has been released, and it’s a cool set. Since we are so close to the holidays, I want to remind you about the Digimon Card Game Gift Box 2023 (BG03) and its very pretty set of promos. Now the Gift Box isn’t the best way to get cards, but it is an easy way to get alt arts. In any TCG, it is always better to buy the singles you want. If you like cracking packs, There is nothing wrong with buying a booster box. You want these box toppers in your collection.
When buying any cards, make sure you support your LGS. If that isn’t an option, you can always find Blast Aceand other Digimon products on TCG Player.
Digimon Card Game Gift Box 2023 includes:
4 x Blast Ace Booster Packs
1 x Acrylic sheet with damaged counters and memory counter
1 x promo card (Angewoman, WereGarurumon, MetalGremon, Lady Devimon)
The Gift Box retails for $19.99, which is fine if you want the promos. I wish there were at least two copies of each promo, but I guess Bandai needs the money. Do NOT pay scalper prices on this product when you can pick it up at Target for MSRP. It sucks that Target sends you a random box, but it’s the cheapest option at the moment. TCG Player carries the Gift Box, but they are a little crazy with their prices as of writing this.
If you are trying to build a meaningful collection and enjoy cracking packs, the booster box is the way to go. If you want to buy cards to build a competitive deck, a mix of singles and starter decks is the best solution. But if you need these promos, or have a tamer in your life to shop for, Digimon Card Game Gift Box 2023 product is solid. Go pick yours up today!
