This week in the Digimon TCG: July 3rd

I know I am a little late on this update but it is a holiday weekend for me. This week’s update will heavily feature Premium Bandai collections that might be worth getting if you enjoy the exclusive promos they offer. Premium Bandai is where you go to get the official high-quality collectibles of your favorite IP’s that fall under the Bandai umbrella. It is more expensive than the traditional Bandai merch, but they are worthwhile additions to any collection. Check out the official website and say goodbye to your money.

Royal Knights Binder Set [PB13]

The Royal Knights Binder and promos shipped. I didn’t order this piece of merch and kind of regret it. The Binder is $50, which is pricey for a binder. It comes with 10 9 slot pages and eight alt art promos. The promos are all so pretty! My complaint is that you only get one copy of each of these promos. If you wanted to play with copies of these cards in your deck, you would have to buy additional binders, but I guess you wouldn’t want to play with pieces this nice. It is still a pretty binder, and worth it if you just collect the game.

I love the art on the binder and how it gathers all of the royal knights together in a pretty epic pose. The gold boarder makes it pop. It really looks like a premium product, at least based on the picture.

I’m starting off with my favorite of the promos from this set. Gabumon looks so cool here! I love the colors and the Omnimon in the background. The foiling for this is going to look so pretty in a binder, but it has a solid search ability if you want to play with it as well. Too bad you only get one copy.

I love the Agumon is mid Pepper Breath. The shading also reminds me of the retro art from the old cards and it really makes Agumon pop.

This Dracomon is so cute! I love the expression on its face and the dragons that swirl around it. It has such a great color scheme and the foiling is going to look so good.

Beezlemon Deck Box Set

The Beelzemon Deck box and the Brown Digimon Card game deck box sets have also started shipping out if you pre-ordered these back in November. The boxes are $40 each, which is a lot more reasonable when you consider you get a nice looking deck box and 12 full art cards. This set comes with six different cards, but you get two copies of each. You could have either bought both deck boxes for the playset, or been fine with just one. These would look so sick in a deck, but you there’s nothing wrong with keeping them safe in a binder. The deck box design is fine, but the card art is sick!

Starting off with my favorite, this MagnaKidmon is just amazing. I love the charging shot effect, the cool expression on its face, and the pose is fantastic. I wanted to get these boxes just for this card.

This Magidramon is beautiful. I love the paint brush style its drawn in. I like how it looks like its about to breath fire and cause more destruction. Look at how the world just burns into ash. The Gallantmon in the foreground and the Omnimon in its hand are such a nice touch. They emphasize Magidramon’s scale and power, and both are terrifying.

Beelzemon Premium Binder Set

The Beelzemon/Beelstarmon Binder set is available for pre-order until August 1st, or until supply runs out. The binder is $100, which again is kind of pricey for a binder, but it might be worth it for the promos. The binder comes with two copies of four new alt cards that you are going to need if you are running a Beelzemon deck. I love that there is two copies of these, but I wish it were a playset for $100. Whether you play with them or keep them in the binder, these cards are beautiful.

Tamer Goods Set: Angewoman & LadyDevimon

Here is something I wish I’d preorder back when it was live. The Angewoman & LadyDevimon playmat set have shipped. The set is $40 which is fine considering you also get a playset of the exclusive alt art cards. Its a beautiful set, and I regret not getting it.

That’s it for this weeks update. There were a lot of cool alt cards that I would love in my collection, but I unfortunately missed out on them. Maybe one day. If you’ve been enjoying these updates, don’t forget to like, comment, subscribe, and share this with your friends. See you next week!

SuperCompleteSelectionAnimationD-ARK ver.Matsuda Takato ULTIMATE now Available for Pre-order on Premium Bandai (Closed)

Digimon Tamers is universally regarded as the best Digimon series ever made, and I have to echo this sentiment. It had great and memorable characters, a fantastic storyline, and some of the coolest Digimon lines. If you are looking for a great place to start Digimon, the answer will always be Tamers.

Tamers also have one of the better-designed devices. I never got to have any of the devices when I was younger, but I had friends who would let me play with theirs. Now that I am older, I am still not able to get my own, but I still follow their releases closely and look at them longingly.

Bandai is rereleasing a mastered version of Takato’s Ultimate D-ARK, and it looks beautiful. You get new animations, an upgraded display, and a set of cards used in the anime. If you’ve ever wanted to own a D-ARK or just want to relive the nostalgia, you need to check this out.

Now I will warn you, Premium Bandai is pricey because the products they sell are meant to be high-end collectibles. If you like any IPs that fall under the Bandai umbrella, good luck to your bank account.

Pre-orders for the Super Complete Selection Animation D-ARK version Matsuda Takato ULTIMATE are open till September 15, 2023, or until it sells out. The device costs $130 which may seem expensive for a toy, but wait till you see the quality.

If you’ve been enjoying these updates, make sure you like, comment, and subscribe. Don’t forget to share this news with some who would love a brand new D-ARK.

This week in the Digimon TCG: June 25th

This week, we got previews for more of the full art cards from the Alternative Being(EX-04), set and they are beautiful. This set has some very cool cards that you are going to want to add to your collection. Alternative Being is in stores now, so make sure you grab a couple of packs from your LGS or TCGPlayer if they don’t carry Digimon. Don’t forget to subscribe and share if you’ve been enjoying these updates!

Alternative Being(EX-04) Full Art Cards

I’m starting off with the cutest card in this set. I need this card badly and am just about ready to sell my soul for a play set of these. If this isn’t the card that moves boxes, I don’t know what is. Sure there are some cool Greymons to chase, but how can you say no to this face?

This card looks so sick! I love the mayhem in the background and how coolly ZeedGarurumon is landing, like he is ready to cause his own mayhem. It also has some solid bounce abilities you might want to add to your deck.

I love the glow effect they added to the metal armor and weapons. I love how this looks like a painting and the heroic prescience the artist gives ChaosGallontmon. Its got removal and a chance to play it free? Sign me up.

This set does a great job with these heroic poses. This looks like it could be on the cover of comic book and would look so sick in a binder or a slab. It also has some solid removal.

The artist does a beautiful job at making BlackMegaGargomon feel massive with this one. It is raining down death and destruction with such a nonchalant expression. I love it. I love it, and the effect isn’t bad either.

The foiling for this card is going to look so good in person. I love the moonlight effect washing over Kuzuhamon and the spirit flying around it.

Another cute card I need in my binder. It’s got a solid search ability and card destruction is always nice.

This Omnimon is amazing and the foiling is going to looks pretty. I love the zombified jankiness of this form! The mummy wraps, the tethered cape, and the eyes on the cannon and sword all give it a very Frankenstein monster vibe that I am here for. It’s a purple card with solid removal and a chance to play it for free? Say no more!

Royal Knights Pre-Release

Versus Knights comes out July 21! Make sure you check with your LGS to see if they are running any pre-release so that you can pick up these cool promos. I need this Psychemon!

And for those interested in the competitive scenes. Always check your LGS for a local scene, and head over to the official site to sign up for events near you.

North America

Looks like Green and Purple are consistent contenders in this format across all regions. Might be the safest bet to buy into green, or getting the Beelzemon deck and fix it up.

Latin America

Looks like blue is making a splash in Latin America this time around.

Event Calendar

I’ve had the Vital Bracelet BE for a couple of months and still love it!

If you have been enjoying my content and want to support what I do make sure you like, comment, subscribe, and share this with your friends. You can also buy me a coffee

I’ve had the for a couple of months now and think it is time for an update. Make sure you check out my initial post and my first update because I won’t be repeating some of the valuable information included in those.

Since I started using the Vital Bracelet, I have lost 10 lbs. I have also started watching what I eat, kicked a few habits, and have become more active, but staying active has been easier because I want to train Digimon. I want to make it clear that the Vital Bracelet alone isn’t responsible for my weight loss, but collecting and training my Digimon has made it easier to stay motivated. Unless you like Digimon and enjoy collecting digital Vpets, this won’t work for you.

If you are going to embark on this hobby, the first thing you should do is bookmark this Evolution guide. It has every Dim and their evolution track neatly displayed in an easy-to-read format. This will ensure that you are always working towards the Digimon you want.

Two more things I’ve learned since the last time I posted:

  1. If you use the bracelet like a keychain, having it in your pocket for bike rides tracks your vitals best
  2. If you have a job where you aren’t very active, you can switch your Digimon out with the default watch adventurer (the green person) and bring them out when you are ready to train.

My first serious partner in this whole adventure has been Angoramon. I have done the squats, and crunches, and walked the miles to almost complete the track. While I am not happy with who I will end up with, it is a great feeling to almost be done. I’ve made a few mistakes that I will improve on next time around, but I can’t wait to finally throw him into the app and send him on adventures.

If you are getting the Vital Bracelet, know that you are only going to be collecting and training vpets. The battle minigame is effectively dead. On a very rare occasion, when all the planets align on a Tuesday, you might find someone to battle, but I wouldn’t buy the bracelet if you want to battle others. This may change in future updates, but there will need some valuable incentives to get players to queue up to battle.

Despite the lack of battles, I don’t regret buying the vital bracelet. I enjoy training my Digimon and appreciate that it gets me out of the house. The gameplay is simple a little simple, but I enjoy collecting enough where it doesn’t matter. I can’t wait for my trip to Japan when I can buy a bunch more Dims to train.

If you want to buy your own Vital Bracelet, make sure you get the BE version. You can get it in white or black without the Dim if you are just looking to upgrade, or one that includes the dims imported from Japan. The Vital Bracelet VV is also a great option if want a watch with a dim included, and don’t mind the loud color. Don’t forget to get a screen protector! As careful as you might be, its going to get scratched. Make sure to shop around before you commit. You might be able to get them imported from a different retailer for cheaper. I am only linking to Amazon because it is easy. Until next time, thanks for reading!

This week on the Digmon TCG: June 18th

We are getting closer to the Alternative Being (EX-04), which means we got a look at some sick alt-art cards that are going to be very hard to pull. The set comes out on June 23rd, so make sure you head over to your LGS and get your pre-orders in for a box or two because this set looks sick! I can’t speak about how powerful the set will be, but I can tell you that this set is going to look beautiful in a binder.

Alt-Art Spoilers for Alternative Being (EX-04)

I am going to start off with my favorite part of any Digimon set, the alt art secret rares that I never have any luck with. I have a few cool ones I will never complain about, but I also wish I could have all of them.

Omnimon Alter-S

Omnimon Alter-S is getting two alts for this set, and I think I prefer the dark one. It has a cool pose, but it really pops against the black background. Based on the videos though, I think the white one might have the better foiling.

Omnimon Alter-B

BlitzGreymon

This card looks so cool. I love how it looks like BlitzGreymon is landing and bringing with it destruction. The on Digivolve effect is also pretty good. Either Degivolving an opponent or getting a free Digivolution could swing the match easily.

CresGarurumon

VictoryGreymon

This one is my favorite of the reveals this week. I love the pose, the colors, and the foiling. VicrotyGraymon looks so cool here and the card would look beautiful in the binder. You also get some pretty solid removal which is always nice to have in this game.

More Alternative Being [EX-04] Spoilers

While they may not be cool and flashy full art cards, the art is still very good for this set. I love the colors and playfulness for this theme set.

This card is so cool. This is definitely one of my favorite Greymons. It reminds me of Zoids or a megazord. The rush ability is nice too.

I love the watercolor effect of this card. I think its its minimalism that makes it stand out against other cards in the set. Being unblockable is a nice effect, but I don’t see this card having much of a life outside of a sideboard.

Ultimate Cup

North America

The latest results for the NA Ultimate Cup are in. It looks like green and purple are pretty consistent across the regions, so it might be a good idea to pick up that Beelzemon starter deck from your LGS or TCG Player. Its a great deck to collect, but it also seems to have some important staples you might need to pick up. Don’t forget to check the official site so you don’t miss out on a chance to participate in an ultimate cup near you.

Upcoming Events

That’s it for this weeks reveals. I will be posting updates every Sunday so make sure you’re subscribed if you want to stay updated. Don’t forget to comment, like, and share this post because that really helps me out. See you next week!

The decklist for the upcoming Deck Wolf of Friendship (ST-16) has been released, and I am very excited about this one. I love purple and there are some beautiful pieces I need for my collection. If you are a fan of the Garurumon line, you might want to get ready for the preorder.

There is a lot of nice flavor to this deck, especially if you are a fan of the original series. I think I prefer the this deck to the Greymon deck because of the aesthetic, but it is going to be hard not to pick up both. With a bit of tweaking, this will be a fun deck.

Digimon Seekers: Chapter 1-17

While the story for Digimon Seekers isn’t bad, the mechanical translation is. In an effort to save the story, I have taken it upon myself to try to fix the story’s awkwardness. The spirit of the story will remain the same, but it will hopefully read a lot better. Make sure you always read the original, but I do hope you enjoy my version as well. I’ll be releasing my version the Monday after the official release. If you enjoy this project, make sure you like, subscribe, and share it where you can. Make sure you start at chapter 1-1!

Loogarmon stands on top of the crimson mausoleum. Its bloodthirsty gaze scanned over the fumbling DigiPolice. Flames lick from the sides of its iron muzzle. The ruby gem on its forehead glows with the light of the magical flame burning around it. Loogarmon sniffs the air as its claws stretch and dig into the red brick below. A sly smirk forms under its mask.

“No fair” Satsuki hisses as her expression sours at the site of the massive wolf. “This Digimon wasn’t…”

Her voice trails off as Loogarmon’s booming laugh echoes over the cul-de-sac. Flames crackle from the gaps in his maw. “I am the Demon Wolf, and this is my castle. Bow to me, or burn!” Its command carries comfortably over the domain.

Eiji watches from the void inside Loogarmon, admiring his partner’s new stage. Eiji can feel the sudden burst of strength and power as if it were his own. As the shock of this new power passes, Eiji begins to look over the data populating the screens around him. “Hey, Loogamon..I mean Loogarmon. Does this mean you got your memory back?” Eiji asks into the void. There is no response. Instead, Loogarmon’s gaze continues fixed on the wretched Numemon.

Satsuki stands frozen as she stares back at the massive wolf above her. She grinds her teeth in frustration. “This wasn’t supposed to happen…” she mutters to herself.

An intense flame starts to bleed from the gaps in Loogarmon’s muzzle. A smile forms, licking up loose embers into the air.

-Howling Burn!

Before anyone can react, Loogarmon shoots a ray of fire at Numemon. This time, its mucus does little to quell the flame. Numemon wriggles as it burns alive. Its squeals are muffled by the Satsuki’s piercing screams. “NOOOO!” She screams as she rushes toward the Numemon. “Not my poor Numemon!” The heat from the flame stops her from getting close enough to help. The flame grows as it burns. Angry tears fall from her eyes as she turns her glare to Loogarmon.

“Numemon is heavily damaged. A retreat has been ordered. Recover the wounded!” A panicked voice crackles over the radio.

The DigiPolice scramble at the command immediately. The Corgodramon swoops down to pick up the burning Numemon. Its rotors extinguish the flames. A squad Commandromon carry the unconscious Numemon aboard before the Corgodramon takes off in a swift retreat.

Inside the Cargodramon, Satsuki tends to the unconscious Numemon. She grits her teeth as she gently cleans her chared partner.

“How dare they do this to my Numemon.” Anger floods over her as she recalls images of Loogarmon and Eiji.

“Captain, you’re exceeding the safety thresholds. You must deactivate the Mindlink!”

“No!” she snaps, not breaking away from her work.

“But…”

“Look at what they did to my Numemon! That insolent Code Cracker and his dumb dog!”She slams her fists on a nearby table. “Next time I’ll make them pay…”

Cargodramon continues its accent unmolested. Satsuki walks over to a nearby window and watches the Wall Slim’s Ninth Avenue shrink below them. “I’ll get you for this Eiji Nagasumi. Just you wait…”

Loogarmon stands on top of the roof of the red mausoleum as the Cargodramon flies away. Eiji appears next to it, and they watch it disappear into the sea of networks.

Eiji turns to his partner and stares in admiration. It was the first time he lays eyes on Loogarmon. Standing over him like a giant Rhino, the wolf smirks. Its eyes lost in the sky.

“I finally remember something after Digivolving,” Loogarmon says, finally breaking the silence. “I used to be the boss of Ninth Avenue.”

“Yeah I heard. The Demon Wolf of Ninth Avenue. Impressive” Eiji remarks sincerely.

Loogarmon turns to Eiji. “But there is still a lot I don’t remember. I mean, I must have lost my position at some point..right?”

Eiji thinks for a moment. “Maybe you just have to keep evolving. If its slowly coming to you, maybe you just need to get stronger.”
Eiji is at a loss. He only knows about Amnesia from what he’s seen in movies.

“Maybe you’re right” Loogarmon looks pensively over the empty cul-de-sac. “I’ll get it all back” He says finally. “My power, memories, everything!” His voice trails off.

A sudden rustling sound comes from somewhere in the shadows. A Digimon emerges slowly from a nearby alley. Other Digimon start pouring from the surrounding streets and begin filling the plaza below.

“What’s going on?” Eiji asks as the plaza begins to fill with unfamiliar Digimon. Eiji begins to feel defensive, but Loogarmon calmy overlooks the Digimon that gather below.

LOOGARMON!

The crowd begins to cheer and chant. Their voices fill the dormant castle, bringing it to life.

Loogarmon! Loogarmon! Loogarmon!

Character design/illustration illustrator: malo

The gathered Digimon celebrate the return of their king. Away from the crowd, on top of a building overlooking Ninth Avenue, the cloaked Digimon watches unseen.

“So the Demon Wolf Returns,” the cloaked Digimon says.

“It’s impressive isn’t it?” the interviewer’s voice replies over voice chat.

“It was little overkill calling the cops like that, don’t you think?”

“I didn’t think they would send their own Mindlinker but never I knew they’d get out of it. Everything came out as expected. Loogarmon is a prototype Digimon.”

“What did you think of the Code Cracker?”

“I’m reserving judgement for now.”

“Looks like the mapping job was completed,” says the cloaked Digimon as it begins to receive the mapping tool’s data.

“Well of course he passed the entrance exam. I want as many Mindlinkers as I can get.”

“Do you think you can guide him? Eiji I mean. Can you take him to a new level?

“I have to.” Silence falls over the pair as they watch over the commotion below. The chants echo off the walls around them. “It’s going to be interesting, don’t you think…Dorumon?”

Dorumon, rookie, beast, data type.

The cloaked Digimon takes off its cloak revealing a small fox-like dragon. Small dragon wings wriggle from the small of its back and a big bushy tail wags behind it. On its forehead, Dorumon has the same jeweled metal interface as Loogamon.

This week in the Digimon TCG 2023: June 11th

We’ve had another exciting week of reveals for the Digimon TCG. I have done my best to organize the reveals and announcements in a way that makes sense. I love the art of this set. The colors and the art style are really going to pop in my binder! Maybe I’ll even make a blue deck. There were also a few tournaments that might have shifted the meta.

Alternative Being Spoilers (EX4)

This set will be in stores June 23, so make sure you put in your pre-orders in and check to see if your LGS is running any pre-release events. The set is also introducing a new ability Alliance which might be worth reading on:

Alliance: When this Digimon Attacks, by suspending 1 of your other Digimon, this Digimon adds the suspended Digimon’s DP and gains <Security Attack +1> for the attack

This is a super cool ability to beef up your attacks. Check out the FAQ for more details:

This Terriermon is so sick! It has a search ability and it is eating a burger? I need it!

I love the art style for this one with all the divine Digimon fighting with Cherubimon. The color scheme is very serene, and the Alliance ability is a very nice touch for flavor and gameplay. You also get access to a nifty little debuff for using your Alliance ability? Sounds good to me.

This Renamon is so cool. I love the big full moon in the background and how it casts such a dramatic light on the figure. The smoke and energy coming off her as it fades into the dark is such a cool effect. I love the pinch of green she holds with her energy, it really makes this image pop. Not to mention that it has a solid on play effect and Inherited effect.

I love the painted style of this Gaogomon. The subtle colors and soft background really do it for me. That bounce ability and inherited memory gain on doesn’t hurt the appeal either.

This has a really nice bounce ability, but the vibrant colors and the art style are just so cool!

This is a such a cool looking card. The colors, the Digimon, the background! You get removal and either a discard spell or memory gain for a 3 cost? That’s a solid add to any green and purple deck.

Upcoming Releases

Bandai has graciously given us a roadmap for what is to come in the future. Lots of exciting releases, I can only hope my wallet can handle them all.

Thanks again for tuning in to enjoy the hobby with me. If you have been enjoying these updates, don’t forget to like, comment, subscribe, and maybe share this with a friend or too. I think I’ll be doing these every Sunday. See you then!

Digimon TCG Update: June 4th

The Digimon Card game has had its resurgence for a couple of years now, and I have since started my humble collection. I love the art and enjoy the gameplay. Sadly, I don’t have the time to play at locals or online, but I love collecting. There are ways to play online if you don’t mind the clunkiness of Tabletop Simulator or the awkwardness of playing through a webcam with strangers on Discord, but I am a little too socially awkward. I can only hope that there is enough of a market for the game that one day, Bandai will release a web client like the big TCGs.

In an effort to give the game more exposure and hopefully convince some folks to join the hobby, I will start making weekly updates on the news related to the game. Please I will be coming at these announcements from the perspective of an enthusiastic collector rather than a competitive player or an investor. This post will also include spoilers for an unreleased set, so if you care about spoilers, stop reading now. And as always, make sure you like and subscribe!

Alternative Being [EX-04] Spoilers

This theme booster is coming out on June 23rd and the art for this set is so good!

I want to start off with Omnimon Alter-S because it looks so cool! Man the art is amazing, and the affects are pretty cool. DNA Digivolution is such a cool mechanic and you get some pretty nice removal and board expansion.

This looks like its going to be a great set to collect if you like the Greymon and Garurumon line. I’d love to add these to my binder!

Locals

The local scene hasn’t had too much love, at least in my area. I had a chat with the manager of my LGS and was told that Bandai was spending more resources promoting One Piece. They weren’t getting much prize support, but that might be changing with the new prize support promos that were just announced. I can’t tell you who is getting allocated, but there might be incentive to collect some.

Tamer Party

Tamer party is a special event for the month of June with the goal to encourage new players to the hobby. This is a casual event designed to teach players how to play. There is no winner, but participants will get special four card packs with a chance of hitting a very cool Magnamon. Check with your LGS if they will be participating.

I don’t know about you, but I love the retro vibe for this Magnomon. They other cards you can pull are pretty exciting as well.

I am most excited for Aldamon if I am being honest. I know there is a lot of hate for Frontier, but it is my favorite season of Digimon. The story might not have been the best, but it had an amazing concept and a fantastic opening song. There might be bias because of how impressionable I might have been at that age, but I don’t care. I like what I like.

June 2023 Store Championship

While not the most exciting news, if you have access to decent local scene, might be a good chance to get some unique promos.

June-August Events

There is a lot going on for competitive players. Both the Ultimate Cup and Championship will be going on across the regions with some pretty solid prize support. looks like there will be both online and offline events, so make sure you go sign up for what works best for you.

2023 Championship Promos

Its time to earn your path to the championship. There are some nice promos so make sure you check out what is available to you.

Digmon Dreamers

Digimon Dreamers is getting its English release on the Digimonweb. Hopefully it gets a proper translation and not Google Translate like Digimon Seekers.

That’s all I have for now, I haven’t decided on the release schedule for these updates but I will be back next week. Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and comment if the mood strikes. Until next time!
