Drakantos December Dev Log Teases a new Hero

I’ve been following Drakantos‘ development closely for a while now because I can see the promise. Drakantos is a cute pixel art MMO that is very reminiscent of the classic era of the genre, but this time on mobile devices. I’ve written about it before, so I won’t get into too much detail.

The December Dev log just released, and while the month was short, there was a lot to be excited about. I’ll be summarizing it here, but make sure you go check out the official post, join the Discord, and add Drakantos to your wishlist.

If you enjoy these updates, make sure you leave a like, comment, follow, and share this with your friends.

New Hero Teased!

The most exciting news from the dev log is the announcement of a 21st hero. The Devs are currently working on the last hero, but the identity remains a mystery. I’m hoping it’s another mage, but we’re going to have to wait for the official announcement.

Faendar’s Trailer

We also got a gameplay trailer for Faendar, and the gameplay looks sick! If you like playing Druids, you are going to want to main Faedar.

He can transform into animals, summon walls of vines for control, and summon trees to fight for him! They did a great job with the flavor of this hero, and he is going to be crazy in PvP. We also got some backstory.

From the official Discord:

Ojore the Geomancing Brawler

The devs have finished the work on Ojore. Ojere gives me tanky earth bender vibes, and I love it. I am not a huge tank fan, but I am open to it. We got few animations teased to get you excited!

Artifacts

Drakantos will have an interesting Artifact system. Artifacts are equipable items that give players passive and active abilities across their heroes. This month they finished their active artifacts, leaving players the option of 160 new active abilities on top of a hero’s kit. I am very excited to see how this works in action and hope to see some of them teased next month.

Mount Animation

All 20 heroes now have their mount animation, and I appreciate all the detail put into it.

Conclusion

The game has made some promising progress. They’ve added new pets, locations and abilities. I just hope we can get a beta soon. Until then, I’ll be following it closely.

My Little Blood Cult is a Terrible Mobile Game Port

I was sent My Little Blood Cult free to review for my blog. While I am very grateful for the opportunity, I won’t let it sway my opinions. This will be my honest review. If you enjoy my reviews, please leave a like, comment, follow, and share this with your friends. You can also always buy me coffee.

My Little Blood Cult is a demonic fishing game available now on Steam and mobile devices. Become the most powerful cult the world has ever known by fishing the underworld for demons, monsters, and other audities. How deep does your hellish devotion go?

I was sent the Steam version, and the game is unplayable. My Little Blood Cult on Steam is a terrible port of a mobile game you can play for free on Android and IOS devices. There is no reason to buy this game unless you want to support the project, but I don’t see enough reason to do so.

I love fishing games in MMOs, and typically always max out the stat in every MMO I play. When I saw My Little Blood Cult, I was genuinely excited. It has a cute art style, the soundtrack is nice, and it promised a game I thought I would enjoy. Unfortunately, the game is unplayable.

The gameplay loop is simple, drop the line and play the fishing mini-game to catch yourself a demon. You can use blood sacrifices and items to catch other demons, but the loop doesn’t work on PC. The game replaces the tapping with clicking, and it doesn’t translate. It is too much work for the game to be worth it. It might be better with a touch screen, but I don’t have it in me to find out. It still seems like too much work to be worth the trouble.

The lack of direction is also an issue. The devs have been working on implementing a tutorial, but most players are going to grow frustrated trying to figure out how the game works. If you do get it to work, it’s not fun enough to keep playing. The game is still in early access, and the devs are actively listening to player feedback. There might be incoming changes that might make the experience better, but until then, My Little Blood Cult isn’t worth your money. You can pick it up on Steam for $6.99, but I recommend you play it for free on Android or IOS first.

Holiday Events, Meowscarada, and Metagross are coming to Unite

The holidays have officially arrived on Aeos Island. Beginning December 7th, players can log into Pokémon Unite for some much-needed holiday cheer. This marks the return of the Snow Battle game mode, which is the only reason I’m logging back in. There are a few other events that you aren’t going to want to miss. Check out the schedule for all the details.

Meowscarada

Meowscarada is the first Paldean Pokémon to appear in Pokémon Unite, and it’s going to be a beast. Just check out that ability:

Meowscarada’s Ability, Overgrow, allows it to vanish into leaves for a short period of time after its max HP is reduced to half or less. Once triggered, Meowscarada’s movement speed and damage dealt increase for a short while, and it can even recover HP during this time by dealing damage to an opposing Pokémon.

You can pick up Meowscarada’s license through the special event happening from December 7th to January 9th. Players can complete missions to earn petals to unlock the license. You’ll need 100 pedals of the four colors to unlock Meowscarada.

Metagross

Metagross will be landing on Aeos Island on December 26th. There is no news on how we can unlock Metagross (probably with money), but we can still be excited. This is good news for those of you out there that like to play those tanky Pokémon.

I just wanted to highlight the bits I am most excited for, you can learn more in app when the events go live. If you enjoy these updates, make sure you like, comment, follow, and share this with your friends. Happy Holidays!

Drakantos November Dev Log: Hero Teaser, Mounts, and Pets!

The Drakantos November Dev Log is out, and there are some exciting updates that we need to look at. There was a hero teaser, mount updates, and more pets! Make sure you read the official post for the complete update, and join the Discord to stay up-to-date on this promising-looking indie MMO.

Don’t forget to add Drakantos to wishlist on Steam. The game just hit 100k wishlists, but we can do better! This game looks like a lot of fun and will be free to play. It won’t hurt to try it out. I’ll keep following the game closely in the hopes that there will be some sort of beta soon.

Check out my previous post for more context. If you enjoy these updates, make sure you like, comment, follow, and share this with your friends.

Paladin Errant: Zeugladius

Zeugladius gameplay has been teased, and you are going to want to check it out if you like playing tanky characters. His backstory is also up on Discord, so make sure you give it a read. You’ll also get a chance to vote on the next reveal when that becomes available. I am enjoying the lore and can’t wait to dive into the full story.

The devs have made a channell for the game’s heroes for all the lore, art, and animation that gets teased and revealed.

Screenshots and Gifs

There have been updates to quests, assests, and systems which is always good to hear, but we also got some pretty cool screenshots. I might be a little biased, but this game looks so cool. I love the retro vibe it gives off, but there is enough of a modern twist to help it stand out.

Last dev log we learned that we are getting mounts, here we see a nice variety of options. There is also a day and night cycle which is always nice to see. Most importantly, the city and environment look amazing. I am a sucker for good pixel art games, and this is definitely matching my vibe.

We got to see some more animation, and this wyvern looks sick! I love the way it crawls out of the ground and leaves that hole. The way it catches fire and takes flight is amazing. Small details like the flames and ember it releases as it flaps make the beast look even more menacing. I can’t wait to see what they do with the bosses. I wonder if we can ride it?

Pets!

It wouldn’t be an MMO without pets, and we got the cutest little skeleton teased. I am all for pets, and if they are easy to collect, I am here for it. I am sure some of the cooler ones will be locked behind a paywall, but I can’t blame them for trying to make money.

Warcraft Rumble is the cute new mobile game you should be playing

Warcraft Rumble just released on Android and IOS devices, and I have been enjoying it so far. If you like games like Clash Royal, you should try Warcraft Rumble. The art is super cute, and the gameplay is interesting. If you enjoy these updates, make sure you like, comment, follow, and share this with your friends.

Warcraft Rumble is a deck-building auto-battler game. Players build an eight-card deck and use it to summon creatures and spells to take over enemy bases. The game is split into PVP and PVE content, which is a welcomed change to the genre. PVE will have players play through a campaign where they fight unique AI bosses, but there will eventually also be Raids and Dungeons that you can complete with your guild mates.

I love the PVE content so far. I love how the maps change, and the strategy with it. I haven’t played enough to unlock any of the higher-level content, but early levels are the casual experience I need in a mobile game. Dungeons and Raids are going to be a lot of fun and will allow players to unlock powerful monsters and buffs. Make sure you start making strong connections with your guild mates now because you are going to need your help to complete some very important content.

I’ve tried a couple of matches in PVP. I think the PVP is fine. Since everyone is new, people are still figuring out a meta which is always a bonus for new players. I’m sure the guides and tips are coming, but only going to be casually driving this game for now.

If you are looking for a new mobile game to get into, try Warcraft Rumble. It’s cute, fun, and free. Best of all, you can choose your experience. If you want to rank up and be the best, the PVP is fun, and there is going to be a ladder. But if you aren’t competitive, PVE is a valid experience. It offers enough of a challenge to be engaging, without having to worry about the frustration that comes with climbing the ladder. You don’t need to know anything about Warcraft to enjoy this game, but you might want to after.

You can download Warcraft Rumble on Android and IOS devices.

The Digimon Card Game Tutorial App got an update, and a new Project has been teased!

The Digimon Card Game Tutorial App, available for IOS and Android devices, has been updated to include the new Wolf of Friendship and Dragon of Courage starter decks. The app is a fantastic tool for learning how to play the Digimon TCG because it offers easy to follow instructions of some fundamental mechanics. The inclusion of the newest starter decks mean that beginners can begin by learning the new ACE mechanics. If you are interested in picking up the Digimon TCG, I recommend you check out the app. I can only hope that this update will one day lead to an online client so that I can play this card game from the comfort of my home.

Bandai has also released an ambiguous trailer for a new project. It featured a new Digimon and a series of words that make me think that we may get some sort of anime or short to push the game. I can only hope that we get a web client, but there is too little information to know for sure. Whatever this is, I am excited and can’t wait to learn more!

If you’ve been enjoying these updates, please leave a like, comment, follow, and share this with your friends!

The October Dev Update for Drakantos just dropped, and it’s juicy!

I’ve been following Drakantos closely because I am very excited about its release. Drakantos is a free-to-play pixel art MMO coming to PC and mobile devices. The art is cute, and the bit of gameplay I’ve seen has me interested. No release date has been set yet, so make sure you join the official Discord so you are always up to date.

The October Devlog just dropped, and I recommend you check it out to share in my excitement. We got some new animations, screenshots, and some gameplay footage.

If you enjoy these updates, don’t forget to like, comment, follow, and share this with your friends. Make sure you add Drakantos to your wishlist!

Yura Teaser

We got a teaser for Yura, and if it doesn’t get you hyped for the game, nothing will. Combat looks so good and the voice acting is fantastic! Make sure you check out the official discord if you want to get some back story!

Mounts

An MMO needs its mounts, and Drakantos will have mounts, and characters that can transform into their own! We got a teaser of the animation, and I am satisfied:

Screenshots

We also got to see a new screenshot of the world, and I love the art! This world looks so good!

UI Preview

We also got a screenshot of the UI. It’s clean, and I dig the character art.

Pets!

Last but not least, we’re getting pets!

MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM U.C. ENGAGE releases October 17 with 4,500 Diamonds for players and a fresh take on the Classic U.C. Universe

MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM U.C. ENGAGE comes out on October 17th, and it might be worth checking out if you like Gundam and don’t mind playing another Gotcha game. I’ve talked about this game in a previous post, so make sure you check that out if you want additional context.

MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM U.C. ENGAGE is a strategy game featuring classic characters from the U.C. universe coming to Android and IOS devices. It promises 6v6 3D strategic battles with easy-to-use auto-play features. The game will also include a voice-acted story that looks back on the classic era of Gundam, with a new story added every month. This is a great deal for new and old fans of the franchise looking for more Gundam.

If you are interested in playing the game, I recommend you start at launch to earn some fantastic bonuses. The pre-registration was a success! There were over 200k preregistrations which means users will get a UR Gundam and 4500 Diamonds at the start. For people who don’t play Gotcha games, this means you’ll get a decent character for clearing the campaign and a nice amount of in-game currency to get you started.

The Release Celebration Campaign will also be coming after release. No dates have been announced for the event, but it is sure to allow players to earn some amazing awards. At the very least, participants will earn 5,000 diamonds, which doesn’t sound like a bad deal.

I love Gotcha games and have been looking for a new one since they took Dragalia Lost down. I can only hope that the micro-transactions aren’t predatory and the game is fun. I’ll be posting a review once I get a bit deeper into the game, but you should try it anyway since it’s free. The game doesn’t go live until October 17, but it is already available for download on Android and IOS devices for those of you who need it.

The first gamplay trailer for the upcoming pixel art MMO Drakantos just dropped, and I am hyped!

I’ve been excited about Drakantos since learning about it at GDC. Drakantos is a free-to-play pixel art MMO coming to PC and mobile devices. Instead of classes, players can choose from a roster of 21 unique characters to set off on their adventure. I love the art, the voice acting sounds amazing, and what I’ve seen of the story has me curious. I’ve written about the game in previous posts. Make sure you check those out if you want more details. If you’ve enjoyed these updates, make sure you like, comment, subscribe, and share this with your friends!

Well, developers just dropped a gameplay trailer, and I can’t help but stay excited for the release. If you are a fan of early-era Runescape, this game may be for you. The gameplay looks relaxing, but there seems to be enough challenge involved to keep it engaging. The boss fights to look like a ton of fun, and it looks like there is an emphasis on party play. I am always in favor of a game that helps foster a strong community. It is too early to tell from the images and video how good this game will be, but I am interested. Hopefully, we get a demo soon. I’ll be following Drakanto’s development closely to report on any major updates, but you should join the official Discord so you are always up to date. Don’t forget to add Drakantos to your wishlist!

The Second Wave beta means we have more lore and playable heroes on the way!

Beta Coming October 6th!

The Second Wave beta is just a week away, and I can’t wait to jump back in. I first tried Second Wave at GDC and got to play in the Alpha earlier this year. I loved this game so much that I am still following it closely, counting the days till I can log back into Armantia!

Second Wave is a free-to-play shooter coming to Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, IOS and Android Devices, and PC via Steam and STOVE. A release date hasn’t been announced, but I will keep you posted. The game will be cross-platform between consoles and PC, but mobile devices will have to play with each other to keep things fair. The game allows gamers to play as unique heroes as they fight in epic team battles over Armantia. I love the art and character design, but it might be a little heavy on the anime side for some folks. Art style shouldn’t matter when the game is this fun. Finally, Second Wave promises not to be pay-to-win. All monetization will exist within a cosmetic-only cash shop or battle pass. It’s not clear how they will handle hero unlocks, but I hope it’s not as predatory as Overwatch 2.

The beta will run from October 6th to the 6th for Steam, Stove, and Xbox insider members only. This will be an open Beta. All you need to do is download the game during the beta period and play till your heart’s content. No announcements have been made about signing up through Xbox Insider yet. I recommend you join the official discord to stay up to date on all the updates.

As we gear up for the open beta, we got a few new characters teased as well as some lore for Ess’el. We have more lore on the way, but I just couldn’t wait another day for this update. If you’ve been enjoying these updates, make sure you like, comment, subscribe, and share this with your friends.

Ess’el’s Backstory

Ess’el was the first hero I played as, and was the reason I fell in love with the game. Funnily enough, it was also the first choice for the two girls I played against. I don’t think I’ll main here because I love the support role too much, but she will always have a special place in my heart. Her back story just dropped, and it is as edgy and cool as you would have expected! She is a fun melee character that I am sure will see a lot of play.

Aegis

Here is a character we’ve seen briefly before. I love the dark and light motif. This is on the list of characters I am going to try to main. She will be playable in the open beta. The rest of the reveals will follow without much description because we only got the name drop so far.
